We provide specialist residential care for children with high and complex needs, many of whom have experienced trauma, instability, and previous placement breakdowns. We have developed a strong safeguarding culture across all of our homes, where every member of staff understands their responsibility to protect children from harm. Safeguarding is not limited to policies and procedures; it is reflected in how we think, act, and respond to children every day.

Staff are encouraged to speak up, share concerns, and challenge practice where necessary to ensure the highest standards of safety are maintained. We operate robust safer recruitment processes to ensure that only suitable adults are employed to work with children and young people. Every member of staff is thoroughly vetted before joining Pathway Specialist Care, including enhanced DBS checks, verified references, and structured recruitment assessments.
We also ensure ongoing suitability once staff are in post, maintaining high professional standards throughout their employment. This ensures that every adult working in our homes is aligned with our safeguarding values and committed to protecting children from harm.

We believe safeguarding is strengthened through continuous learning and reflection. All staff receive comprehensive safeguarding training before working in our homes, followed by regular refresher training and ongoing professional development.
This ensures staff are confident in recognising signs of abuse, responding to disclosures appropriately, and identifying early indicators of risk. We also embed trauma-informed practice into all training, helping staff understand behaviour as communication and respond with empathy and professionalism.
